The May/June 2009 issue of Event Huntsville hit the streets this
past week and I enjoyed covering a Mardi Gras fundraiser, the
Greengate School fundraiser, and the Spamalot Cast Party at
the Broadway Theatre League. We were all disappointed
Richard Chamberlain didn't make it but it is great fun for the
season ticket holders to hob-nob with the cast members!

I also spent a glorious spring afternoon talking to Allyson
Kirkpatrick about the renovation of she and her husband's
romantic bungalow in Twickenham. Sitting out on the patio I
envisioned Scout and Bo walking hand-in-hand down Eustis.
While I was in the neighborhood, I visited with one of Huntsville's
oldest historical families: the Van Valkenburgh's of VV&W real
estate not only epitomize southern hospitality, but they are one of
the most charming couples I have ever met married 46 years!.

I have 2 articles in the new R&D Report, published by the
Huntsville Times.
  • One is on the importance of Radiation Hardening our
electronic equipment before sending it out into space or
into the battlefield. It may sound dorky but read the new
novel One Second After by William R. Forstchen (with a
Foreward by my favorite Conservative, Newt Gingrich)
    and you'll see it differently
  • The other is on the new robotic Lunar Lander, designed
and being built here in Huntsville. It's perfected version
will be one of several robotic landers going to the Moon
in the next few years, to study the lunar surface.

I enjoyed working with the Workforce team at the Chamber and
with a number of manufacturing businesses and the Arts
Council to pull together 3 stories for the 2009 Chamber of
Commerce Guide.

The Spring/Summer 2009 issue of
Who's Who in Huntsville
Magazine
is out and I wrote 18 of the advertorial-type business
fefatures that are so unique to the local publication. You can find
those on the
Ghostwriter page by clicking here.

Every 2 months I do the cover stories and Across the Pond
feature for the
Mobile Tech News and Detailer's Digest. I have
been writing for these trade publications for the past 6 years and
if I ever quit writing, I will definitely go into the automotive
detailing business... Everyone who I feature in these magazines
have a passion for what they do!

The Greenery and the Huntsville Botanical Gardens helped me
out with my article on gardening with your children for Growing
Up Magazine - one of the
Huntsville Times' newest publications..
